Plushie Tycoon
Play To Win

  1. At the start open up an account and select the time zone you want. DO NOTHING ELSE! Choosing the right time zone is key.
  2. When raw materials are cheap buy 400-800 plushies worth of raw material. Iwould aim for 600 plushies worth if the prices are less than 2000 NP. Green plushies with rare gems seem to be the way to go.
  3. Once you have set a time zone and collected your raw materials pay rent for the factory.
  4. Hire lots of workers. Possibly 250 journeymen, 100 trainees, 50 graduates and 40 managers. 1:10 (managers : workers) seems to work well.
  5. After the first hour adjust the staff to make the remaining plushies and pay the rent for your warehouse for the ones you have alreadymade. Once all of the plushies are made fire all workers and wait for the ware house to do its job. It will take about 4 1/2 hours.
  6. when the plushies are ready to ship, pay the rent for the shop (not before) and put the rest of your money into the ads and shop upgrades (apart from about 500 NP and the sum needed to ship the plushies).
  7. After that, ship your plushies and expand your shop if necessary. Be patient and wait for your plushies to sell. When the first batch is made increase your shop ads and upgrades to sell the remainder faster that you will make.
  8. For each category of shop upgrades it is probably easier to pay for the cheapest.
  9. From now on build batches of 100 first, then work your way up towards 200, 300, 500... (4 batches of 100 plushies will cost less to make and sell faster than 2 batches of 200 pluchies)

Example Game

August 4: All I have done is create a store, set up a time zone, checked the raw goods prices and decided that they are too high to buy. I did nothing else, no factory, no shop, no warehouse.

August 6: I will test out my factory after the next hour has gone. You may have to wait a little longer.

I bought raw materials before 11:00am nst when rare gems were 1293 NP, green cloth 151 NP (302 NP for double), neocotton 214 NP and velvet bags 467 (total 2276 NP for 100 green unis). I just bought some more then with rare gems 1154 NP, cloth 190 NP, neocotton 130 NP and velvet bags 803 NP (total 2497 NP for 100 green unis). The price earlier on was cheaper all round despite the accessories being more expensive.

Note: I did not buy all expensive packing and stuffing. I was just using this as an example.

My factory did work then. I had 4 types of plushies with 200 of each kind to be made. I used a staff profile of 400 Journeymen and 200 trainees and they made all but 139 unis. I have decided to hire 70 trainees and 140 Journeymen to hopefully finish off the job. Last month I did better by hiring 400 Journeymen, 200 Trainees and 50 graduates. Then 60 Trainees and 100 Journeymen to finish off the remaining 90 plushies.

I have now paid the rent for the warehouse but have not looked at my shop yet.

All 800 plushies made (total wages 9030 NP) and all staff fired, apart from the compulsory manager.

I have shipped all of my plushies now. I should have looked earlier, as 10 have already sold without ads. With ads I would have sold more. I have paid my rent on the shop and upgraded my shop to level 2. I maxed out the ads on the lower levels and got to buttons on the second highest level of the ad section. I maxed out the carpet in the shop upgrades and put the minimum in each other upgrade section. That leaves me 3592 np to pay the managers wages before my 1st batch sells.

August 8: Guild Question “my unis with rare gems velvet bags and neo cotton are only selling at 89 I remember last month they were 100? anyone else see that?” My answer “Yes someone else told me the same thing.

For interest I have made 200 aishas with neocotton and cardboard boxes and they are sell for 79 NP, 200 Unis with neofoam and cardboard boxes and they are selling for 82 NP, 200 Chombies with tree floss and velvet bags for 84 NP and 200 Unis with neocotton and paper bags for 80 NP. All made had rare gems and green cloth.

I would say that things have changed a great deal in the pricing of this game. It may help buying more expensive cloth when it is cheap? Experimentation looks in order again.”

August 11: I just checked the game and at the close of business I was 5 off selling my 1st batch. So I decided to buy magnets in the shop ads. That has left me with plenty of cash to sell those 5.

The 5 plushies sold in the 1st hour of working hours. I invested the profit into more ads, maxing all but the Neopian Times ads, which are now at the color insert level. If the raw material prices were very cheap I would have considered buying some instead, but that was definitely not the case.

August 12: Yesterday I bought 4 batches of 200 plushies (experimenting with them)….the price did go down a bit. All of them were Unis with tree floss, 1 batch was yellow with rare gems and velvet bags (88 NP sale price), another green with molded plastic and velvet bags (57 NP), another green with used junk and velvet bags(44 NP) and the last blue with rare gems and velvet bags (89 NP).
I was disappointed with the sale price figures. Looks like green plushies with rare gems are still the way to go, even though the prices are about 11 NP lower than last month. I had maxed out my ads and paid all of the shop upgrades apart from the last 4 in the bottom section. To my surprise both the cheap batches were sold out when I checked after 4 hours of working hours today. Also just over 170 yellow plushies were made and 147 blue ones. I paid off all the remaining shop upgrades and the next hour all plushies were sold. So now I am off to make more plushies. I have to make sure that I have room for some rent that is due in 1 or 2 days time.

I just made 4 batches of 300 plushies, all green with rare gems. 2 sets of 300 unis with tree floss and cardboard boxes, 1 set of 300 chombies with rare gems and velvet bags and 1 set with 300 ixis with rare gems and velvet bags.
To my pleasant surprise, when I went to hire staff I found that they now have options to hire 50,100 and 250 at a time. I had suggested this to neopets through the send feedback section recently, and probably a few others. This is a great change to the game. I have hired 600 Journeymen and 300 trainees. Lets hope that they do a good job. I have over 26,000 left to spend, so could have probably spent more on stock...nevermind.

900 of the 1200 plushies are now in my warehouse. Only 66 of the remaining 300 were made, so I decided to buy 200 green aishas with rare gems, neocotton and velvet bags. I reset my staff profile to 150 trainees and 300 journeymen. Unfortunately, only the unis got made. Still need to make a further 89 aishas, but I do not have the funds, so will leave them for later. I have 4 sets of 300 plushies waiting to be shipped from the factory.

August 13: I found this interesting, below is the sales of my 4 sets of 300 plushies after 4 hours at full ads and upgrades. The unis are selling far quicker than the Ixis and even moreso over the chombies. Looks like some new random factors and variances in the game?

Chomby 300 85 NP 93 7905 NP 02-12-20 02-12-21
Ixi 300 86 NP 134 11524 NP 02-12-20 02-12-21
Uni 300 83 NP 262 21746 NP 02-12-20 02-12-22
Uni 300 83 NP 225 18675 NP 02-12-20 02-12-21

August 14:The prices of raw materials have been high, but I found a slot when rare gems dropped down to 1600 and something and decided to buy 2 sets of 400 unis and 1 set of 400 Zafaras to go with the Aishas already in the factory. I hired the Zafaras for a test, and while cloth prices were down, it was worth a shot. I hired 500 Journeymen and 250 trainees and all but 1 batch of Unis were made. I still need to make 324 unis, but only have just over 2300 left to spend. It is more than likely that the Ixis will sell, as they on have 16 left to sell, but I decided to fire all the workers for now and wait until the chombies and Ixis sell first. I then plan to make more plushies with the new funds available. I also decided to expand the warehouse to level 9 and shipped the unis and Zafaras to the shop. I did not have the funds to ship the Aishas. To my surprise green Zafaras with tree floss and velvet bags sell for 137. That is higher than last month. That means that investigation into 3 and 4 roll plushies may be worth testing.

In fact the hour has just gone and I did sell the Ixis and put the Aishas into the shop. I will wait for the chombies to sell, then buy some 3 roll plushies to go with the remaining Unis in the factory.

The chombies were finally sold and I bought 300 Bruces, 300 Draiks and 300 Unis to go with the 400 Unis already in the factory. Decided to try 600 Journeymen and 300 Trainees. They completed all jobs apart from 166 unis. I have enough to make the remaining plushies and ship the 1000 plushies into the store. I adjusted the staff to 170 journeymen and 80 trainees. The Aishas should sell in 2 hours time, which is the last factory hour for the day. This months game is certainly faster moving than previous months.

From now on, I may stop writing so much on this month’s example; you should get the picture by now.

Not long after my last bit of writing changes in plushie tycoon have been substantial. The plushies seemed to have slowed down in sales and the work profiles above will no longer work well at all. You need to experiment with staff and managers to find a good mix. I am still trying and do not know the answers.
